Gyrfalcon Perched

A Gyrfalcon perched on a rock. The largest of the falcon species that breeds on Arctic coasts and tundra. Located on the islands of northern North America and the Euro Siberian region. It is mainly a resident there also, but can disperse more widely after the breeding season, or in winter. White gyrfalcons were a highly valued gift to royalty and sometimes are called The Bird of Kings for this reason.
