Banking for Landing

An Atlantic Puffin returns from being out to sea with Sand Eels in its mouth on the Saltee Islands Co Wexford Ireland. Captured as the puffin banked (bank angle) on its return run to land by its burrow. This shot was taken with a fast shutter speed to freeze the motion and movement and the sand eels are clearly visible in the Puffins mouth. The shallow depth of field gives a good contrast to the image. The blurred background complements the pin sharp capture of the fast moving puffin in flight.
